Soooo, I did this mix over the weekend after spending a LOT of the past week getting the songs together to do a mix up of the indie dance rock and electro house styles. Took me a while but I finally got it done (I’ve been wanting to do a mix of this stuff for a good month now, but I just haven’t had the time really). Originally I was just going to do 2 different mixes – 1 being an indie rock mix and another to be straight electro house. But when I started the mix off, I just decided to say frigg it and mix it all in together and just freestyle. So here you go, I tried to throw in quite a bit of variety but with enough goodness to keep you nodding your head.

Hip Hop and Pop, Mixes

So I’ve been trying to do one of these for a while now as I’m a rabid fan of Oldschool Hip Hop, and that hip hop I grew up listening to back in 90-92 in California. Whenever I dj out doing hip hop I always warm up the crowd with some oldschool and everyone LOVES it because they *never* hear anyone playing it anymore, always going “OH MAN! THIS TUNE!!!!!”. So what I’ve done is gone and made an entire mix out of some of the best oldschool hip hop tunes that have come out from all over the US. I’m not talking about 2000, I’m talking about 1990, mid 1980’s, 1992, 1993, etc with 1 or 2 from 97 or 98ish (don’t worry they’re gems). So here’s 2 baltimore club remixes that I did a few weeks back. Since I’m quite into that sound I figured I’d try my hand at making 2 bootlegs from opposite ends of the spectrum. The first is a remix of Purple Ribbon Allstars’ Kryptonite. The second is a bootleg of a remix of By The Way by Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Kryptonite bootleg was played out to quite a good reaction, so I figured I’d spread the love with urrbody else:

So – this is the start of something I’ll be updating pretty regularly. Most of the time I’ll be posting links to new mixes that I do – having a central repository for links, tracklistings, and more or less sexy music for sexy people (so if you’re not sexy people or in the process of bringing that sexy back…we may have to work on you).

Mainly I set this up so that I can spread the tunes, mixes, shows I’ve been at/will be at/dj’ing, general douchebaggery, and totally awesome crap that I think everyone should partake in viewing/listening to/etc. Not only that but a lot of people have been asking for lists of a bunch of the sets I’ve done in the past since, for some reason, they seem to enjoy them. (WHO KNEW?)

It’ll also be the spot I go to stick up new artwork, projects I’m working on, and other things that others do that fits into the “awesome” spectrum.

Oh and by the way – happy wear green and get drunk as shit day to everyone!
