Hey everyone! So the other morning, while on morning baby duty at 5am, I found that I was in the mood for the first time in…oh probably 4+ years easily, to do a Drum and Bass dj mix. Now keep in mind, beyond the live set I did at Fluid prior to heading out to the best coast, I haven’t done any drum and bass mixes since 2008 – I was really getting into a LOT of other kinds of music and wasn’t really feeling much in the world of dnb. Regardless, I decided to just have a freestyle mix of tunes that I haven’t heard in YEARS<\/strong>, without any pre-planning or style that I was going with, or anything else – really just an organic process, but quite an enjoyable one to say the least. While doing the mix, I didn’t feel like I had to cram 36 tunes in within the span of an hour and 20 mins, or that I had to do anything at all really – just enjoy actually dj’ing the music, and whatever happened, happened. So what I ended up coming out with was a pretty summery styled mix of tunes – nothing too crazy or hard or anything else – just something to get your head nodding and feet tapping with some fantastic music. After listening to it a number of times, I’m really quite pleased with how it turned out – one of my better mixes in recent years. It comes in at just under 60 minutes, and I’ve put it up as a 192k mp3 file.<\/p>\n
